Community-college pathways

Upward transfer: YesAccelerated: YesSupplemental: Yes

We understand and appreciate the diverse educational pathways that individuals may pursue on their journey towards a career in medicine. Courses taken at the community college level completed during high school and/or a two-year transfer program will satisfy our prerequisites. However, the Admissions Committee does prefer that the bulk of the courses, particularly Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry courses, be taken at a four-year college or university. For college graduates seeking prerequisite course completion post graduation, we encourage completing prerequisite courses at a 4-year institution or pursuing graduate level science coursework. Courses take for AP credit and online courses cannot be used to meet prerequisite requirements.

Admission policies, in the school's words

https://medicine.ecu.edu/admissions/application-process/ We conduct a complete and holistic review of applications, and encourage students to submit them as early in the cycle as possible. Following an initial review, many students will receive a secondary application. Students are expected to return their secondary applications by the deadline. Legal residents of North Carolina are considered for admission. Graduates from the UNC System public schools within 5 years of application submission are eligible for consideration, regardless of state of residence. A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited regional institution within the US or Canada is required for admissions. We do not accept international applicants.

Notes

Minimum MCAT 500 and minimum science GPA 3.0 for both in-state and out-of-state applicants; US citizens or permanent residents only. The school's 'Matriculant Profiles' page (medicine.ecu.edu/data-analysis-strategy/marticulant-profiles/) returned only navigation to the fetch tool and HTTP 403 to a plain client, so no class statistics could be read.
