Admission policies, in the school's words

All applications submitted to AMCAS must include the following: • Online AMCAS application - Submit the application from June 1 to October 1. • Transcripts - Transcripts for all previously completed academic programs must be submitted to AMCAS by October 15. • Application processing/secondary fee - Applicants selected for secondary review will be required to pay a $120 processing fee unless granted a fee waiver by AMCAS, for further consideration, by October 15. • Letters of recommendation - Three individual letters or one committee letter are the minimum number required. Review Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine letters of recommendation requirements and submit letters of recommendation through the AMCAS Letter Service by October 15. • MCAT – Applicants must have completed at least one MCAT examination within three years of their intended matriculation and achieved a minimum score as shown on our website. Once this requirement is met, the admissions committee considers the applicant’s highest MCAT score as part of MCASOM's mission aligned selection, regardless of when that score was earned. Primary application As a national medical school, Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine has one AMCAS application for our three campuses in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota. Secondary application Applicants invited to complete a secondary application will have the opportunity to select and rank up to four campus track options and must select at least one. Options ranked will be considered at the time of interview invitation and acceptance. *Do not select an option that you would not want to be accepted to. Select "Not Interested" for those options. • Arizona 4-Year Track - The Arizona campus is your home base for all four years. • Minnesota 4-Year Track - The Minnesota campus is your home base for all four years. • Arizona/Florida Track - You complete preclinical coursework on the Arizona campus and then clinical clerkships on the Florida campus. • Minnesota/Florida Track - You complete preclinical coursework on the Minnesota campus and then clinical clerkships on the Florida campus. Acceptance, alternate list, and rejections We make acceptance decisions when all interviews are complete and when our admissions committees have deliberated on all applicants. Initial offers of acceptance will typically be made in February. The Admissions Executive Committee could consider all campus track options that an applicant indicated on their secondary application at the time of acceptance, regardless of where they interviewed. *Do not select an option that you would not want to be accepted to. Alternate list notifications will be sent once initial offers of acceptance have been communicated. Acceptances from the alternate list may be extended between March and June. Initial rejections will follow alternate list notifications and be sent at the end of the cycle.

Typical interview day
Depending on an applicant’s selection and rank of campus track in the secondary application, you could be invited to interview with any of our three campuses. Applicants should be dressed in business professional attire for their interviews.
